THE ARTIST

I love to draw. I draw at night, sitting on the sofa with my drawing pad resting against the sofa’s right arm. Photographs, sharpened pencils and erasers are on a side table. Usually a good movie is playing; but always my Cornelia is sleeping on the floor near me and my Tristan is asleep with his head on my lap. -- Anngharaad "Annie" Reid

Growing up, Annie had two passions – drawing and her Samoyed, Nikki. It’s too bad it took so long for her to combine the two. When she finally did and drew the animated expression of her Samoyed, Beau, the result was magical.
Samoyeds are Annie’s favorite subject; she loves capturing their many moods and distinct personalities. Her drawings of them are intimate and personal, suggesting very long, close and warm relationships with her Samoyeds and a genuine admiration and respect for the breed. "I adore my Sammies. They are my darlings, my loves, my chuisle."
Annie's work has been featured in various Samoyed Club publications and in the book, "Crafty Samoyed - Knits" by author/designer Peggy Gaffney.
Annie lives in Connecticut, with her husband, Ron, and their Samoyeds, Cornelia and Tristan. She is a member of the Samoyed Club of America and the Minuteman Samoyed Club and an associate member of the Denver Samoyed Association. Her background includes a degree in Art from Smith College.
